Ohmigoodness we need to win the Lotto and buy a beach house. No question. If you had seen these kids and their looks of glee (all 4 of us kids - ha ha ha) while chasing (and being chased) by the waves, you'd agree with me. We took a small day trip up Hwy 101 and stopped at a small non-touristy place called Westport Washington. This beach was the best. Wide open, hardly anyone there, hardly any houses, no shops, boardwalks, nada. Pure simple beach. Not only that, but it felt untouched - we found 6 whole sand dollars, and several buckets of intact shells, sea glass and treasures.
We want to go back to play on the beach, and to tour their Cranberry Bogs (which apparently is their main trade). There is an Ocean Spray plant nearby as well, so the cranberries must be good!
Anyway, some pictures of our fun on the beach:
Makenna looking likes she's 16 - eeeek
showing us their sand dollars:
off to get that wave!
that pesky wave keeps coming back though!
he fell a few times, but as you can tell, he couldn't have cared less!
They look so itty bitty on the edge of the continent
